It seems that every thread gets hijacked by fans wanting Lee Clark out, I thought it might be appropriate to start a thread specifically to discuss. I personally can’t understand why people refuse to recognise that he worked under the most impossible circumstances last season, yes he made some mistakes but as did all the other 92 managers. His biggest criticism was playing people out of position I think these changes were out of sheer desperation as all avenues to try and improve the squad were closed to him. My opinion is that Lee Clark is a very good up and coming manager, he is still learning and at some point in his career he will be very successful, the least he deserves is the opportunity to see where he could take us given some support and financial backing. Fair do's but what is it that makes you think he's a very good up and coming manager and that he will be very successful. He's done nothing that shows me that. |

I've got his IP address, will pm you where he lives. Round up a posse and we'll have a lynching about half 12. |

Because he built a very good team this time last year before the rug was pulled from under his feet and the players were recalled, unfortunately the replacements he managed to get in were not up for the fight. KRO Come on England Sheffield Blue |

I watched that team and you and I must differ on your 'very good team' comment'. I thought they were rubbish. |

The job here at Blues is to big for him imo, he'd be much more suited to managing at non league level. His first season he took a squad that had just finished one game from returning to the premiership and fought a relegation battle for most of the season with some shocking football along the way. Last season went from bad to worse, our home form was abysmal, I mean I can put up with us losing if we 'have a go' but the way in how we played at Stans was the worse I have ever seen. All down to the manager. Just two League home wins, and we never deserved anymore than those two. Not looking forward to the new season while LC is here, this time he will take us down and that win at Bolton will have just turned out to be a waste of time, just delayed the inevitable by 12 months. He's a poor manager, the worst bit of business Peter Pannu has done imo. Clark Out ! |

You are talking about the team who couldn't beat Charlton, Barnsley, Middlesborough, Doncaster or Blackpool at home are you? It is that period is it? If that constitutes a very good team in your opinion then again I must differ with you. |

As soon as the new owners get on board then Clark must go. We need a fresh start with a different and decent manager. He had loads of money at Huddersfield and he was sacked for failing to promote them in two seasons. He's not the manager for us, not at all. |

Can you please show me where I said that was my opinion. And you have avoided the little fact about being seven points off the playoffs when they got recalled, nice one :LMAO: |

as you keep repeating the 7 points off the playoffs point I can only assume that you considered that home form better than mediocre.Do you fancy England to win the world cup btw? |

There is absolutely no doubt that we would have finished nearer to the play off's than the bottom had circumstances not conspired against him, the team played Wigan off the park and easily beat Blackburn, they were just beginning to gel. The reason I would defend him is based on what resources he had available and what he managed to achieve, so far his signing are very positive, just the type of players in the exact area's we need them. What's England and the world cup got to do with it!! KRO Come on England Sheffield Blue Edited by sheffield_blue, Jun 9 2014, 02:06 PM.

He did well in difficult circumstances however I am unsure how to put a measure on what he did. For example it could be argued that he done nothing that another decent manager could not do. If he gets another season it will end in tears. That much I am certain of. |

If you put your Brain into gear you will realise that the recalled player`s were in December which leaves 3/4 of the time the disastrous home run took place, so its not to hard to work out the reason why now is it.? |

We were carp all season at home in the League with the exception of the two wins that is. We were no better when Bartley & Burn were here. We played the poorest football I have ever seen at St Andrews no matter what part of the season. Some news later I hear and am hoping Lee Clark has been put on his bike. By the way as a poster ITK you wouldnt happen to know what the news is later would you ? :LMAO: |

Clapton, that is the whole point none of us know how well he would have done given an even platform to compare him too. But if its his fault that our solid defence (at the time) got broken up and he had almost zero chance in December of replacing them then I would say and always will, that he should be given a fare crack of the whip, |

Your on a hiding to nothing with this thread sheff! despite the fact that the main fabric of your posts will be sound. There's many on this forum who are not interested in the conditions or constraints LC had to endure in his heart-felt service to us, and none are disposed to focus upon where a lack of the same belonged to the squad players in variable performance from one week to the next, even when the team selection was maintained after positive games. Its more about maintaining the same old rhetoric against LC when like him, they appear impotent or clueless without the necessary means or resources to act. (or post) 'Brave' indeed as boilerman said! :Eng09: Edited by Engleman, Jun 9 2014, 04:53 PM.
